Hello Folks!

I am just back from the Big 'D' officer installation party.

I have to admit the charming and homely "CHIC from Barcelona" tends to get eclipsed by the rather pretentious "Mercury Grill" next door. It took me half an hour to find the place quietly tucked in at Preston and Forest (Thanks to my dearest Pinar for directions) but I tell you it was worth the wait. It was a splendid choice by John and savored the tapas menu to my hearts content. In fact the staff was kind enough to bring me a second helping of the paella (shhhhhhhhhhhh....) in lieu of dessert.

Let me wish Steve and Linda and the other officers the best as they strive to lead us to a perfect 10 again this year. First time officers - Gracie, Victoria and Frank - thank you for stepping up. I hope you grab the opportunity with both hands and bring panache to your roles.

The more exciting news is that the blog will now have 3 more contributing authors - Danni, Mike and David M. It is envisaged that with the addition of these stalwarts the blog will see a smorgasbord of entertaining articles that will bring the Big 'D' family news and events to this forum every week. There are plans afoot for us to have a presence on Facebook too. Stay tuned...

I met some new members and connected with some old ones. It felt like home again.

I did miss several members who have I had the privilege of meeting at Big D. Hope you are all doing well.
