Last week's meeting had the incomparable Eric Dyson as the Toastmaster and his theme was "baseball." Everything in the room resonated with the theme from Eric's "RAT" Tee, to the cracker-jacks and cotton candy on the table to some people's undergarments.

The secretary missed what appeared to be an exciting business session with Paul Carter presiding. I am sure a good time was had by all at Paul's expense. The member in the spotlight was Therese Rockwell. Table topics were led by John Checki.

Prepared speeches were given by Abe who spoke about his latin heritage and of his passion for travel in "Adventurous Personal Growth." Danni, gave her 2nd ice breaker entitled "11 things you didnt know about me," and Dee spoke concerning the fight against smoking in "Its Not Just a Nasty Habit." Diane elucidated on the latest in the study of depression via "On a Blue Note."

Therese was the General Evaluator and individual evaluators were Sherry, John Sessions, Jeff and Angelo. Awards went to Cliff for best table topics, Abe for best speaker, John Session for best evaluator and Danni for Toastmaster of the evening. We had our fair share of guests. Guests are always welcomed at Big D! Visiting were Anita and her daughter Martha. Also Terri, Larry, and Kumar. The meeting ended ahead of time at 8:27pm.

Snippets from the meeting:
"You cannot be diagnosed if you don't open your mouth"  - John Lawson
"Change is the essence of renewal" - Pete Henning
"It is better to be unborn than to be untaught" - John Lawson
"She could make a dollar holler" - Renita referring to her Dear Mom
