Sorry for the lateness of this post for last week ...



This past week at Big "D" Toastmasters:
 
WOW!  Free ice cream!  Thank you for doing such a wonderful job as Toastmaster Danni Babik.  Ice cream: a fun and delicious theme.  Thanks for the Breyers Ice Cream and thanks for teaching us about "Scround" shaped containers.
 
We were thrilled to add a new member to the club.  Qibin Cai joined Big "D" Toastmasters, his second club, after presenting his ice breaker earlier in the day.
 
We took a trip down memory lane chasing the "ice cream man" as Ginny Higgins led us in Table Topics.

For prepared speeches, Renita Boykin gave a wonderful, entertaining ice breaker. Bryan Daigle taught us how to turn our ideas into more than ideas. Paul Carter talked about shooting jack rabbits until e ran out of shotgun shells. Finally, we were delighted by a history lesson of the First Amendment and profanity from counselor Cliff Hutchinson. He managed to talk about the "F" word for 13 minutes. (Well ... almost).
 
The evaluators were Benjamin Vincent, Kathy Toler, guest Ed Meissner (our Area 31 Governor), and Jim Wolf.  Special thanks to Ed for helping out at our meeting!  John Sessions was the General Evaluator.
 
Awards for the evening were given to Katherine Gean for best Table Topics, Bryan Daigle as Best Speaker, Benjamin Vincent was the best Evaluator and the veritable icon of Big "D" ... Mr. John Sessions was selected as Toastmaster of the Evening.  CONGRATULATIONS!!
 
Please note that we have a number of people who have indicated they are unavailable during July and August due to vacation and business commitments.  Big "D" has a very strong membership pool; normally more than enough members to fill all the roles at one of our meetings.  With summer vacation schedules right now, we still have enough members attending to have a great meeting but the schedule gets a little less flexible.  Please help by being prompt to notify me and the Toastmaster each week regarding any schedule changes that affect you and the meetings.  Thanks in advance for your help on scheduling!
