Big "D" Club is one of thousands of clubs internationally. Officially, we are club #713, District 50, and Area 31. Currently our membership stands at 35. All clubs work hard each year to achieve one of three levels of recognition: Distinguished Club, Select Distinguished Club, and the pinnacle of it all ... President's Distinguished Club.
To reach the first level (Distinguished), a club must meet five of ten goals. The second level (Select) requires seven of ten goals, and the ultimate destination (President's Distinguished) requires nine of ten goals.
Some of the goals are listed below:
1) At least two members complete their first manual (ten speeches)
2) At least one member complete his/her Advanced manual
3) At least one member complete his/her Competent Leadership manual
4) Add at least four new members
5) Have at least four officers trained (two times per year)
Big "D" Club has already met 3 goals and should be able to meet more before year end (June 30, 2007). We can always check by going to the Toastmasters International web site and click the link CLUB DCP REPORTS.
